Are things sliding around on your Mid-Deck?
I personally use foam shelf liner (the kind that has the "waffle" pattern to it) I cut a small piece of it, and put it under my tool box that I carry for work all the time.  No matter how hard I take a turn or hit the brakes, it stays put!

"Murdog" from ChevyAvalancheFanClub.com recommends adding small eye-hooks to the top of the deck.  Then you can hook on bungee cords to keep things in place as well...
